Notts pub closes its doors early due to 'irresponsible behaviour'

A pub in Nottinghamshire has closed its doors due to "irresponsible behaviour".

Pubs and bars across the country - except in Leicester - were given the go-ahead to reopen after three months on what has been deemed 'Super Saturday'.

But The Ravensdale pub in Sherwood Hall Road, Mansfield, closed its doors at around 6pm on July 4 and will remain "closed until further notice".

In a Facebook post, the venue said: "Due to irresponsible behaviour we are closed until further notice.

"Thank you to everyone who supported us on our first day of opening.

"Hope to see you soon.

"Just to make it clear to everyone, it was my decision to close the pub for my staff's health and safety."

Pubs, bars and restaurants - if opening - had to adhere to Government guidance to become 'Covid secure'.

The two metre social distancing rule was however amended to 'one metre plus' to help more venues re-open.

New rules include table service only, registering details at the door in the eventuality that track and trace may need to be used, and also one-way systems to lessen contact with others.
