Notts door maker creating 25 jobs on path to £50m sales

A Nottinghamshire door manufacturer wants to step up production and create 25 jobs on its path to hitting an annual turnover of £50 million.

Mansfield-based Integrated Doorset Solutions makes doors for clients in the education, healthcare, commercial, residential and accommodation sectors including Unite Students, Balfour Beatty and MACE.

To help it meet growing demand for its products, the business – which is part of the IDSL Group – approached Lloyds Bank for £150,000 funding to invest in automatic sanding machines.

The new sanders will improve the quality of finished products and free up two members of staff to work elsewhere within the business. The automated machinery is also safer than traditional equipment.

The investment is part of a bigger £4 million that has gone into the business over the past three years for into new racking, an automated spray finishing line and door finishing machinery.

Together the funding will help the company take on 25 staff over the coming year and support the group’s plans to grow sales from £37 million to more than £50 million.

The group, which was founded in 2015, now includes four businesses – Integrated Doorset Solutions, Performance Joinery Limited, Fire Door Inspection Solutions Limited and Fire Door Inspection Solutions (Southern) Limited.

Integrated Doorset Solutions chairman Nigel Richmond said: “When most people were forced to down tools during the peak of the coronavirus pandemic, we were busier than ever, working overtime to manufacture antibacterial doors for the Nightingale and Aspire hospitals across the country.

“More recently, as people return to cities and offices, we’ve seen a surge in demand from office and apartment builders, and there’s no sign of this slowing down anytime soon.

“The support from Lloyds Bank has been invaluable in helping us to expand. We’ve been able to introduce new technology that will not only support our growth and increase our efficiency, but ensure we have the best equipment for our employees.

“We’re excited about the year ahead and look forward to welcoming a number of new colleagues to our team over the next year.”

Mark Smith, relationship director at Lloyds Bank said: “Integrated Doorset Solutions has been a customer of ours for more than six years and during that time we’ve supported them to achieve significant and impressive growth.

“Nigel and the team provide some of the highest quality specialist doors across the UK and are always looking for new ways to innovate and grow their offering. We’ll continue to be by the side of businesses like this across the region to help them capitalise on future growth opportunities”
