Notts County vs Solihull Moors player ratings as Ruben Rodrigues 'immense' in thriller

A late strike from Ryan Barnett shattered Notts County's hopes of victory as Solihull Moors rescued a 3-3 draw in a National League thriller.

The Magpies had fallen behind to a penalty from Andrew Dallas that was awarded after Adam Chicksen was ruled to have handled in the box.

But Notts levelled when Ruben Rodrigues fired in from just inside the box before Zak Brunt clipped the post as the Magpies chased a second.

And they found the breakthrough when Alex Lacey thumped in a header from a corner only for Dallas to wipe out Notts' lead with a predatory finish.

Rodrigues thought he had the final word for Notts when he raced clear through to slot past the advancing Ryan Boot.

But up stepped Barnett to lash in from 25 yards with four minutes remaining as the Magpies had to settle for a point.

Here Leigh Curtis rates the players.

Vitezslav Jaros: Got close to saving Andrew Dallas' penalty but it just carried too much power and then was wrongly penalised for bringing the striker down in the box before the referee changed his mind. 6

Dion Kelly-Evans: Usual blood and thunder which, of course, is usually accompanied by a booking. Always puts his bundle in and did okay. 6

Connell Rawlinson: Game seemed tailor-made for him given Solihull liked a long throw into the box and his presence gave the Magpies extra feet and inches. 6

Alex Lacey: Knew he could never take a breath with Dallas around as the forward never gave the back four any peace. Scored a thumping header and had a good game. 8

Adam Chicksen: A solid game from the left-back and on the occasions he got forward he produced a couple of terrific deliveries into the box. 6

Ed Francis: Took a booking for the team although you got the feeling that the ref never really saw the challenge in the first place. Was more composed in the second half. 6

Frank Vincent: Showed lots of energy in trying to deal with the Moors when they were in possession and tried to support the attack when he could. 6

Zak Brunt: Almost scored straight after Notts' equaliser when he hit the outside of the post and showed flashes of why Sheffield United rate him so highly. 6

Ruben Rodrigues: Showed his devastating finishing skills yet again with a terrific goal that drew Notts level and also hit a fine second. You knew where the ball was going to end up before he struck it. Great corner for Lacey's goal too. Immense. 9

Callum Roberts: Was inches away from meeting a Rodrigues cross and also showed the nimble feet that caused a few problems for the Moors' defence in the first half. Quiet in the second. 6

Kyle Wootton: Showed some quality link-up play at times and his work is for the good of the team rather than himself. Could be a bit more selfish but had a fine game. 7
