Notts County were dumped out the FA Trophy after a shock penalty shootout defeat to Hornchurch on Saturday.
Here is how Magpies writer Leigh Curtis rated the players in Ian Burchnall's first game in charge.
Sam Slocombe : Could do nothing about any of the goals as the first was a horrible deflection and for the second, Notts were carved open by the visitors. The third was a tap-in. 5
Dion Kelly-Evans: Got into a right scrap at times with Sam Higgins, got forward well and produced a peach of a cross which led to the second goal. But tailed off after the break. 4
Mark Ellis : Couldn’t really attribute any blame to him for any of the goals but if Notts are going to play out from the back the centre-backs undoubtedly need more movement in front of them. 5
Connell Rawlinson : The centre-back has been really solid this season, but had a mixed afternoon in the heart of the Magpies’ back four as the visitors made a real fight of it. 4
Jordan Barnett : Created the first goal and there was plenty of energy as he offered decent width, but got outmuscled on some occasions. 5
Michael Doyle: The best player went it came to passing both short and long-range but he couldn't do it all on his own. Struggled when Hornchurch made it a dogfight in the centre of the pitch. 4
Jake Reeves: Plenty of industry, but didn’t really have a defining impact on the game as Notts found the physical approach of Hornchurch hard to handle at times. Missed his spot-kick in the shootout but that can happen to anyone. 4
Calvin Miller: Nice and bright when he collected the ball having played as an inverted winger. Drifted into some good areas in the first half, but very quiet in the second half. 4
Ruben Rodrigues : Scored the second goal which showed his instinct for being in the right place at the right, time but was substituted early on after the break. 4
Enzio Boldewijn : Had an excellent first half, but didn't quite happen for him after the interval. Was played on his favoured left-hand side but was replaced. 4
Kyle Wootton: Had the beating of the Hornchurch centre-backs in the air and grabbed a deserved goal. Could have had a couple more too and missed a big chance in the second half. Gets no help. 5
Substitutes
Jim O'Brien (Rodrigues 52) : Tried to have an influence when he came on and it was from his shot that brought the third goal. 4
Jimmy Knowles (Boldewijn 67): Created a terrific chance for Wootton but was sloppy in the final minutes. 4
Eli Sam (Miller 74) : The Belgian striker scored when he came on but produced a couple of needless fouls. 4
