Notts County v Hartlepool team news: Eight changes for the Magpies

Neal Ardley has made eight changes to his Notts County side for their National League clash against Hartlepool this afternoon.

The Magpies boss decided to rest the majority of his first-team squad for the FA Trophy clash against Morpeth a week last Saturday and he decided to bring them all back for the clash against Dave Challinor's side.

Big-hitters Michael Doyle, Jake Reeves and striker Kyle Wootton were all back involved as Ardley searched for a victory that would help keep the pressure on league leaders Torquay.

Sam Slocombe was back in goal behind the trusted back four of Richard Brindley, Connell Rawlinson, Ben Turner and Dion Kelly-Evans.

In what is expected to be a 4-4-1-1 formation, Enzio Boldewijn was on the right, with Reeves and captain Doyle in the middle. Tom Walker took his position on the left.

Ruben Rodrigues was deployed as a second striker while Wootton was deployed as the lone striker.

There was no Callum Roberts for Notts with the winger still out of action due to an operation to strengthen his stomach lining, while Damien McCrory requires surgery on his knee and was also out.

Forward Wes Thomas was still absent due to personal problems.
