Notts County to raise awareness of fight against homophobia in football

Notts County's corner flags  and captain's armband will sport rainbow colours this weekend as they prepare to host their Football v Homophobia fixture.

The Magpies will look to raise awareness in the National League clash against Woking  as part of an initiative designed to challenge discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

The LGBT Pies supporters' group will also be joined by Pride in Football and the LGBT Trickies to raise awareness of the work they do.

Football v Homophobia wants the sport  to take a  stand against homophobia and transphobia so that everyone can enjoy the beautiful game.

They want  football to  lead the way in removing discrimination and prejudice based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

Football v Homophobia works on a number of levels from events, to campaigning, to policy guidance and throughout all aspects of football from grassroots to the professional game.

If you’re interested in finding out more about LGBT Pies, please contact our supporter liaison officer Alice Kelk.
