Notts County to allow trio to leave the club on loan

Notts County will allow Andy Kellett, Will Patching and Tom Crawford to leave the club on loan in a bid to keep them match fit.

Boss Neal Ardley confirmed he has spoken to the trio about their futures with all three yet to start a game this season.

Kellett has been nursing a neck injury for the last 10 days while Patching, who arrived last summer from Manchester City, injured his ankle last week.

Crawford has been fit, but has been the subject of interest from other clubs and is perhaps the closest to sealing his exit from Meadow Lane.

With first-team chances extremely limited, Ardley said it would benefit the players and Notts if they were to get minutes elsewhere.

“Andy Kellett and Will Patching are injured,” he said.

“We think there is interest in Tom Crawford so we are seeing what happens there.

“Andy has been out for 10 days with his neck, and last week, Patching rolled his ankle.

“We don’t think it will be too long before they are back.

“But they are players we believe would benefit from getting themselves out and playing.

“We’ve had conversations with them, but if they end up staying here then we will see how it goes.

“The one problem we have got is we have no Steve Chettle and no under-23 set-up.

“The last thing we want is to keep players around without them having fixtures to play.

“That’s not fair to anybody.”
