Notts County set to be missing SIX players for visit of Chesterfield

Notts County could be without six players for their clash against Chesterfield this weekend after Zoumana Bakayogo was the latest to join the casualty list.

With captain Michael Doyle suspended, goalkeeper Sam Slocombe, midfielder Regan Booty, centre-back Ben Turner are all definitely ruled out of the National League clash.

Full-back Damien McCrory is also considered a doubt and the problems at left-back have increased after Bakayogo suffered a groin problem.

Dion Kelly-Evans could make a return having joined in training following a thigh injury with boss Neal Ardley set to make a decision on the right-back’s availability in the next 48 hours.

At a key time of the season, and with Notts pushing for the playoffs, Ardley says the situation is far from ideal but backed his squad to overcome it.

“Dion Kelly-Evans is back in training but Damien is still a doubt,” said Ardley.

“Zoumana Bakayogo is a doubt as well because he’s got a tight groin.

“Ben Turner is getting work in again but Regan Booty is a longer-term absentee, and we all know about Sam.

“It’s not good timing but whenever we’ve had these challenges the squad has come together.

“We’ve dug out results before and hopefully we do the same this weekend.”
