Notts County sell more than 1,500 season tickets ahead of maiden voyage into non-league

Notts County have sold more than 1,500 season tickets ahead of their debut season in the National League.

Magpies fans have been quick to show their support despite their relegation from the EFL and that number is expected to swell ahead of the new campaign.

It underlines once again the magnificent backing from Notts fans who are continuing to back the club who could welcome new owners over the next week.

A South African consortium remains committed to buying the club from current owner Alan Hardy having agreed a price a week last Friday.

But they will be buoyed by the number of season tickets that have been sold should they eventually complete their deal in what is set to be a big seven days with Notts also set for a High Court hearing over an unpaid tax bill on Wednesday.

Notts had one of the highest average attendances in League Two last season with 7,357.

They are expected to top the table in the National League where Leyton Orient had the highest average attendance of 5,444.

The number of season tickets sold has been helped by the club's decision to slash renewal  prices by more than £30  - starting from £276 and £184 respectively.
