Notts County say they do not owe money to Crawley Town over Harry Kewell

Notts County say they have paid Crawley Town the full compensation fee for former manager Harry Kewell.

Yesterday, the Post reported the Magpies owed Crawley money in relation to Kewell's move to Meadow Lane on a three-year contract in August last year.

However, the club say that is not the case and the full balance was settled in December, a month after Kewell was sacked.

A Notts spokesman said: "Contrary to a report in the Nottingham Post, Notts County can confirm that, in accordance with the agreement made by both clubs, the money owed to Crawley Town in relation to the appointment of Harry Kewell was paid in full on December 28 2018."

The report also said money was owed to Wycombe Wanderers for Craig Mackail-Smith after the striker signed on loan for the second half of last season.

Notts confirmed they do owe money for Mackail-Smith.

"Wycombe will be paid in line with what's been agreed between the two clubs," the spokesman added.
