Notts County's teenage hotshot scores five goals in huge FA Youth Cup win

Notts County's teenage forward Tyreace Palmer scored five goals as the Magpies' under-18s progressed to the third qualifying round of the FA Youth Cup with an 8-1 win over Leicester Nirvana.

Craig Gordon's side were unstoppable at Meadow Lane where Palmer led the way with his quintet, and was further assisted by Kayne McKenna, Kieran Cummings and substitute Cameron Smith.

McKenna had opened the scoring early on before Palmer sent an effort crashing against the post.

But the striker was not to be denied next time around when he grabbed his first goal having been picked out by a cross from Cummings.

Jamil Humoud reduced the deficit before the break, but Notts turned their superiority into a glut of goals after the interval.

Palmer scored his second of the night just seconds after the restart before scoring his best of the night with an instinctive turn and finish from outside the box.

He then made it 5-1 on 57 minutes and scored again just before he was replaced by Taylor Conway.

Notts continued to attack at will as Cummings added a seventh and Smith then rounded off a fine night's work for the young Magpies.

Notts: Brooks, Simmons, Irvine, Wilde (C), Marshall, Snedden, Bucalossi, Mckenna (Smith 64'), Mulvany, Cummings (Mellors 76'), Palmer (Conway 70').

Subs not used: Harrison, Stavrou.
