Matt Tootle is baffled as to why he has suffered an injury-plagued season as he opened up on his frustration he has suffered this campaign.
The Magpies defender played only his 12th game of the season last weekend as Notts were beaten 1-0 by 10-man Exeter leaving them three points adrift of safety.

Tootle’s absence for large parts of the season has been a huge blow given he was crowned player of the season last term having played his part in a stellar campaign that saw Notts reach the play-offs.
But this year has been a struggle for the ex-Crewe defender whose progress has been halted by a series of niggling problems that have left him mystified.
“I am not sure why I’ve suffered so many injuries this year,” he said.
“It’s part and parcel of the game I suppose.

“Maybe I am getting a bit older, but I am not 100 per cent sure why I’ve struggled with injuries and niggles there and niggles here.
“It’s been very frustrating.”
