Notts County's Enzio Boldewijn reveals battle with pal Kristian Dennis

Enzio Boldewijn has no problem letting his pal Kristian Dennis win their goalscoring competition if it helps Notts County’s bid for success.

The Magpies duo are good friends off the pitch, but are locked in a battle on it with the Dutchman having bagged five goals this season, with Dennis currently on seven.

The pair travel in together for training with Dennis having previously spoken of his friendship with Boldewijn after both players signed for the club last summer.

Despite their fight for supremacy when it comes to being top scorer, Boldewijn says he is happy to serve more goals on a plate for Dennis if it helps Notts continue their excellent run of form.

“He is a striker and if he is in a better position then I will give him the ball,” he said.

“There is a bit of a competition between us and if I can help him score more goals that helps the team, then I will do that.

“It’s healthy to have that competition and he is a great guy and a top finisher.

“He sits in my car to training and pretends he doesn’t like my music, but I know he does.

“We make jokes with each other, but I know I can count on him in every game.

“We haven’t talked about a forfeit yet, but if I win, I will think of something for him to do.”
