Notts County's Connell Rawlinson voted fans' player of the season

Notts County defender Connell Rawlinson has scooped the player of the season award after a superb campaign at Meadow Lane.

The centre-back has been an instrumental figure in the heart of the Magpies' defence at Meadow Lane after arriving on a free transfer from Port Vale last summer.

He formed an outstanding partnership with Alex Lacey which formed a solid foundation for Notts as they finished third in the National League table.

Rawlinson enjoyed terrific form particularly over Christmas as the Magpies embarked on a terrific run which ultimately proved pivotal in their climb up the table.

The former TNS defender was also a joint-winner for player's player of the season sharing the award with top scorer Kyle Wootton who collected the golden boot.

Captain Michael Doyle also scooped the goal of the season crown for his wonderful strike against Dagenham in the FA Trophy when he struck an incredible 50-yard strike to seal a 2-1 win in stoppage time.

Sam Osborne picked up young player of the season but is currently debating whether to extend his stay at the club having been offered a fresh deal at the of the campaign.

The club's legendary striker Les Bradd was also rewarded with a prize as he collected the community champion award.
