Notts County's Ben Turner reveals what's giving him extra 'strength' for Wembley

Ben Turner has revealed he is refusing to get his hair cut ahead of Notts County's Wembley date just  in case he becomes their very own Samson.

The Magpies defender has grown considerable locks over the last three months while the country has been shutdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.

But even though restrictions have been eased, and hairdressers are now reopen, Turner has yet to let the scissors loose.

And having sported his new look in the win over Barnet at Meadow Lane last weekend, which took the Magpies to Wembley for the National League play-off final, he is keeping it that way until Sunday's showpiece is over.

"I don't have any superstitions, but the only thing I've had is people keep asking me if I am going to get my hair cut because of what I've ended up with on my head," he said.

"But I couldn't get a hair cut in lockdown. I came back training and felt good so I said I am keeping the hair.

"Maybe I am getting a bit of strength from my hair.

"I want to win the play-offs and get my hair cut. That's the plan.

"But until then I am keeping it."
