Notts County owner Alan Hardy hopes to be in position to pay staff after High Court hearing

Notts County face one of the biggest days in their history tomorrow with their future in the hands of a High Court judge.

The Magpies are back in London for a hearing over a winding-up order due to an unpaid tax bill which is believed to be at least £250,000.

The previous two hearings were adjourned to allow enough time for a sale to go through with a Danish consortium now believed to be closing in on a takeover at Meadow Lane.

It is understood that boss Neal Ardley has lined up four players to join the club in preparation of a deal going through as he looks ahead to next season.

But it is feared that should a judge grant an extension for Notts to complete a sale,  which would leave the club still under a transfer embargo, it is feared they will move elsewhere leaving his squad building plans in ruins.

It can also be revealed that chairman Alan Hardy, in a message to the players, said that he hoped to be in a position to pay them either tomorrow or Thursday.

Fans are desperate for an end to one of the most turbulent periods in the club’s history with their hopes now being pinned on a Danish takeover.

Brothers Alexander and Christoffer Reedtz were among a party of four being shown around Meadow Lane and have significantly ramped up their pursuit of the club.

They are the only consortium left to be interested in Notts after a South African group, and one from Britain, fell out of the running.
