Notts County must 'keep believing', says boss Neal Ardley

Neal Ardley does not want his Notts County side to be known as an “unlucky team” after Yeovil ended their four-game unbeaten run.

The Magpies were beaten 3-1 by the Glovers at Huish Park, but it did not tell the full story of a game which the visitors dominated for large spells.

After Courtney Duffus had opened the scoring, Notts missed a catalogue of chances after the break with Ben Turner having a header cleared off the line, while Wes Thomas hit the bar.

Yeovil eventually punished their wastefulness through Luke Wilkinson and Miles Hippolyte before Kristian Dennis hit a consolation from the penalty spot.

There was much to be admired about Notts’ performance, but manager Ardley says it needs to be matched with results.

“We were excellent against Wrexham  and should have won, but we drew,” said the former AFC Wimbledon boss.

“Against Yeovil we were excellent once again and we shouldn’t lose,  but we lose.

“We have to get out of the habit of being an unlucky team.

“We just have to keep believing in what we are doing.”
