Notts County manager Neal Ardley reveals extensive research into new signing Ruben Rodrigues

Notts County boss Neal Ardley hopes extensive research pays off after landing an 'exciting talent' in Ruben da Rocha Rodrigues.

The 24-year-old scored 12 goals and added 10 assists for Den Bosch last season in 29 appearances for Dutch second division club.

Born in Portugal, Rodgrigues can play as an attacking central midfielder, a number 10 or a striker.

He is also fluent in English. The player's arrival represents a first foray into the foreign market since the club was taken over last summer.

"Rúben is the player I watched more than any other during lockdown," Notts boss Ardley told the club.

"The recruitment team and I believe we have found an exciting talent who will improve the squad and get better with age.

"He can play as an attacking midfielder, a number ten or even as a striker and we hope he fulfils his talent with us.

"Rúben will begin training immediately to get up to speed ahead of the rest of the squad's return to training."
