Notts County manager Neal Ardley feels soaring Magpies have 'ability and mindset' to push for promotion

Neal Ardley feels his Notts County side have the “mindset and the ability” to push for promotion this season but it admits it offers no guarantees.

The Magpies roared back into the top seven on Tuesday night as they thumped Woking 4-0 in what was their biggest away victory of the season.

Two goals each from Enzio Boldewijn and Wes Thomas sealed the victory in what was a hugely impressive performance from Ardley’s side who bounced back from their defeat to Chesterfield in style.

With Notts now having lost just three of their last 17 games, the Magpies are on an exceptional run which has Magpies fans dreaming of a charge back towards the Football League.

And having won promotion before with AFC Wimbledon when he guided them to play-off success at Wembley, Ardley feels his Notts team also has the ingredients to enjoy a successful season at Meadow Lane.

“This team feels like it has the mindset to (win promotion) and I certainly think it has the ability to,” said Ardley.

“It doesn’t always guarantee it, but it certainly gives you a chance.”
