Notts County making plans despite ownership uncertainty at Meadow Lane

Notts County are continuing to put their pre-season plans in place, as the search for new owners of the club continues.

The Magpies are still waiting to welcome Alan Hardy’s successor at Meadow Lane, with a South African consortium and a group fronted by property developer Alex May leading the race.

Former Port Vale chairman Norman Smurthwaite has also been linked with a takeover of Notts, but is reported to have turned his attention to crisis-hit Bolton Wanderers.

Notts County left sweating over key midfield duo

Notts fans are eager to see a deal completed so they can begin their preparations for life in the National League, after relegation from the Football League was confirmed last weekend.

How likely is it that Notts County will return from non-league football at the first attempt?

They have so far been unable to release their retained list because of uncertainty on who the new owners will be, with the future of manager Neal Ardley still unclear.

But despite the lack of clarity, Notts are still pushing ahead with trying to arrange pre-season friendlies and last week also announced they had slashed prices for loyal season-ticket holders looking to renew for next season.
