Notts County learn their play-offs opponents as eliminator takes place

Notts County will face Barnet in the battle to make it through to the National League play-off final at Wembley.

The Bees will travel to Meadow Lane for the semi-final next weekend after they beat Yeovil Town 2-0 at Huish Park in an eliminator this afternoon.

After a terrible first half, in which neither side registered a shot on target, the game burst into life after the break when Paul McCallum gave Darren Currie’s side the lead.

Yeovil fought back strongly and wasted numerous chances to level with Jimmy Smith seeing an effort desperately hacked off the line.

As the Glovers pushed forward in search of a goal, Barnet were content to play on the counter-attack in the hope of scoring a decisive second goal.

And it duly arrived late on when former Notts defender Carl Dickinson headed a cross against his own post with Mauro Vilhete getting the final touch.

They will now face Notts at Meadow Lane on Saturday, a game that will be screened live by BT Sport. Kick-off is 5pm.

On Friday night, Boreham Wood beat Halifax, and will play Harrogate in the other semi-final.
