Notts County in 'sad state'! Record scorer hoping for good news on Meadow Lane takeover

Notts County's all-time leading goalscorer Les Bradd says the club is in a "sad state" - but he is hoping for good news on a Meadow Lane takeover.

Magpies owner Alan Hardy has told Nottinghamshire Live a deal to sell the club will finally be completed on Wednesday, with a Danish consortium understood to be poised to become the new owners.

And Bradd is hoping one of the most turbulent periods in the Magpies' history will soon come to an end.

"Whilst watching the game last night I spent 5 mins looking at the flag on the Jimmy Sirrel Stand remembering many former players who had served the Club with pride," he said on Twitter.

"Sadly the flag is now in a sad state very much like our Club. I hope there is some good news awaiting. COYP"

The Magpies drew 1-1 with Ipswich Town in a pre-season friendly at Meadow Lane on Tuesday night.
