Notts County hoping to shake-up squad before facing Stockport County

Notts County boss Neal Ardley says there will be ins and outs at Meadow Lane this week with the club looking to get deals done before Tuesday night's clash with Stockport County.

The Magpies were beaten by Eastleigh on their National League debut on Saturday and lacked physical presence across the park - something that Ardley is keen to address.

Defender Ben Turner made his Notts debut, but the 31-year-old could only have an impact from the bench and looks set to start from there on Tuesday too.

But even with Turner fit, the club are in the market to sign two more central defenders this week, preferably in time to face Stockport.

And departures will follow with new owners Christoffer and Alexander Reedtz wary not to overspend and make the same mistakes as past owners.

"I think we need to now," said Ardley, when asked if he would make singings before Tuesday.

"We were looking to anyway. We were looking to get a couple of deals done, but we certainly need to now.

"But we have to get some players out too. Some of the lads need to go and play football elsewhere and I will be having those conversations next week.

He added: "At the moment we just need to get players in before we can let players go."
