Notts County hoping to seal deal for new training ground

Notts County are close to moving to a new training ground which they will use for the rest of the season.

The players are currently training at Nottingham Trent University with that deal set to expire next week.

But NTU have given the club an extension as they finalise a move to another location.

The details are being kept under wraps, but Magpies boss Neal Ardley  hopes there is a smooth transition to their new base.

“We’ve still got NTU for a little bit longer, but we are looking and I think a deal is being agreed,” he said.

“The club is going through all the bits and bobs and the extension at NTU will give us a few weeks to get the new place ready.

“It’s all in good hands.

“There will be a flow and transition from where we are now to where we are hopefully going to be.

“It will be certainly be something for this season. In the  longer term, it will give us time to look at what is the best way forward for the club.”

Notts had been on the lookout for a new base since the summer having decided against the option of extending their use of Basford United’s facilities.

They agreed a short-term deal with NTU, but new owners Alexander and Christoffer Reedtz are eager to find a long-term solution.
