Notts County hero wants to see club 'back where it belongs'

Former Notts County winger Paul Devlin is hoping the Magpies will "get back where they belong" by securing promotion to the Football League.

Neal Ardley's side stand just two wins away from a return to the EFLjust 12 months after they were relegated from League Two.

Notts play Barnet at Meadow Lane on Saturday night in the National League play-off semi-final which, if they win, will book them a date at Wembley.

Middlesbrough boss Neil Warnock has already sent his good luck message as has Charlie Palmer who scored the winner against Nottingham Forest in their last league meeting in 1994.

And now former wideman Devlin, who made more than 140 appearances for the club, has joined them in wishing Ardley's side the best in their date with destiny.

"Big weekend for my first club," he Tweeted.

"Let’s get the club back where it belongs in the Football League!

"Loved my time there, met some great people, C'mon you Pies!"

Notts' game against Barnet kicks off at 5pm and will be screened live on BT Sport.

The Magpies have no fresh selection worries ahead of the game with the only two absentees being defender Damian McCrory and midfielder Regan Booty.
