Notts County have what it takes to climb out of relegation zone, says Craig Mackail-Smith

Craig Mackail-Smith has no doubts Notts County have what it takes to climb out of the bottom two with a win away at Crawley Town.

Neal Ardley's side will be looking to turn back-to-back defeats in League Two into a victory in West Sussex against a side who up until recently were facing the threat of relegation themselves.

The hosts on Monday head out of the Easter period home and dry thanks to a 3-1 win over Exeter City last time out, but are a side who Notts know how to beat having taken victory in October's reverse fixture.

Enzio Boldewijn must deal with the pressure but has the quality to make the difference for Notts County says Neal Ardley

Plenty of things have changed since then with the arrival of Mackail-Smith being one of them, but the end goal remains the same - keeping the Magpies in the Football League.

"It is a game that we are more than capable of getting a result from," said Mackail-Smith.

"We have to put a performance on and we have to get a result.

"We have to do our job on the field and we have to look at it as just another football game.

"The circumstances that surround the game, and where the club is, we totally understand away from the games but going onto the pitch we have got 90 minutes and we are playing against another side of 11 players where we have to do our jobs and win the game.

"Then, hopefully, those wins will be what takes us out of this situation.

Michael Doyle pledges his future to Notts County even if they are relegated

"The quick games doesn't give us too much time to think about what is going on, which can be good."
