Notts County 'hard done by' against Wrexham says Neal Ardley

Neal Ardley says Notts County felt “hard done by” as missed chances proved costly in their draw at home to Wrexham.

The Magpies had taken the lead through a fantastic header from Kristian Dennis in the second half when he converted a Regan Booty centre.

But Devonte Redmond equalised for the visitors with their only shot on target when he struck from the edge of the area.

Notts created several chances to win it with substitute Nathan Tyson guilty of firing over from 12 yards when unmarked, while Enzio Boldewijn shot straight at Christian Dibble.

Magpies boss Ardley said he was encouraged by what he witnessed and it was another indication that Notts are beginning to adapt to the National League.

“I think they had one shot on goal and scored,” he said.

“You feel hard done by.

“I said before that I didn’t think we had games where we had stats that would indicate it was a winning performance.

“But we did at Harrogate and we did against Wrexham, so it’s a step in the right direction.

“We had players who were tiring, so we are only going to get better in that respect too.”
