Notts County handed late survival boost as Macclesfield Town's financial turmoil rumbles on

Notts County have been handed a late boost in their bid to preserve their Football League status as relegation rivals Macclesfield Town continue to battle with financial turmoil.

It has been reported that Sol Campbell's side have, for the fourth time this season, left players and staff unpaid on pay day.

Why being off social media is an advantage to Notts County's Mitch Rose

Wages for February and March were both received late at Moss Rose and BBC Manchester understands that the same has now happened for April.

The news comes just a week on from the player strike at Bolton Wanderers' that forced the Trotters to postpone their clash with Brentford, with staff there too left unpaid.

Macclesfield are two points clear of the Magpies heading into this weekend's decisive round of fixtures.

Notts County set for bumper away following for all-important relegation clash at Swindon

Final day in League Two promises to serve up a spectacle as Neal Ardley 's side head to Swindon Town, backed by a bumper away following, while Campbell's Silkmen host Cambridge United.

A point would do it for Macclesfield, with Notts needing nothing short of a victory to pull of the greatest of escapes at the bottom of the Football League.
