Notts County fans hilariously hijack Vanarama's National League's World Cup of Goals competition

Notts County fans have hilariously hijacked the Vanarama National League's World Cup of Goals competition on social media.

Vanarama asked fans up and down the country to vote on the best goals of the season so far with all players put into group stages.

But Magpies fans were quick to take up the challenge in support of their heroes - and now both semi-finals are set to be fought out by Enzio Boldewijn, Richard Brindley, Mitch Rose and Callum Roberts.

The quartet have scored hugely impressive goals this term as Neal Ardley's side climbed to third in the table before the season was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The goals which have been chosen by Vanarama are Boldewijn's sizzling 25-yard strike against Barnet, Brindley's thumping 35-yard drive against Torquay, Rose's thunderous drive against Halifax and Roberts' brilliant individual goal at Barrow.

Michael Doyle's effort from the halfway line against Dagenham is not included because that was in the FA Trophy.

Fans are still able to vote on their favourite goals.
