Notts County draw Harrogate in FA Trophy semi-final - but one aspect goes in their favour

Notts County will face Harrogate  Town in the FA Trophy semi-final, but the Magpies have the luxury of playing the second leg at Meadow Lane.

Neal Ardley's side will tackle Simon Weaver's promotion-chasers on their artificial surface on March 21, before hosting them a week later.

It is hoped that Notts could break the record attendance for the FA Trophy semi-final which currently stands at 9,111 and was set in the 1970s.

Notts have already beaten Harrogate once this season having secured a 2-0 victory  in the National League earlier in the season.

A Kristian Dennis penalty and a goal from Enzio Boldewijn sealed the win as Will Smith was sent off for a deliberate handball.

But Harrogate have soared up the table in recent months and they are currently second in the division and look a firm bet for the playoffs.

Notts will now face them three times  before the end of the season with two FA Trophy games and a game in the league all on the agenda.
