Notts County dispute Basford United claim on training ground debt

Basford United are set to let Notts County's academy teams continue training at their ground as the two clubs disagree over whether a bill has been paid.

Notts trained at Greenwich Avenue last season and Basford insist they are yet to be fully reimbursed.

The Magpies insist they have been paid in full for use of their facilities, saying they are "disappointed" Basford chairman Chris Munroe went public.

Munroe is poised to let Notts' under eight to 16 squads keep training there until the middle of the month as an act of 'good faith', with Notts having a different view on the matter.

"We are disappointed and confused as to why Basford United felt the need to publish this tweet considering we shared an amicable conversation with their chairman, Chris Munroe, this morning," a spokesman told Nottinghamshire Live.

"Nevertheless, we appreciate Basford allowing us to continue to use their facilities and can confirm all monies owed to them have been paid in full."

Notts' first team are currently training at Nottingham Trent University.

However, the players and club staff are still yet to be paid their salaries for June amid the ongoing financial crisis at the now National League club.
