Notts County have completed their sixth signing of the summer after Sam Graham returned to the club on loan from Premier League side Sheffield United.
The defender has put pen to paper on a deal that will run until January initially and he will immediately go into the squad to face Alfreton Town in their friendly this weekend.
Graham impressed during his time at Meadow Lane last season, but his campaign was cut short after rupturing his Achilles in training last September.
He had been a regular starter until that point and his arrival back at Notts this time around comes at a crucial time with the club short on bodies at centre-back.
Ben Turner is currently out with a calf problem and has been ruled out of the Harrogate FA Trophy semi-final with boss Neal Ardley admitting he has no chance of making that game.
Alex Lacey is also struggling with a back problem and is a major doubt.
The lack of bodies forced Richard Brindley to play the club's first pre-season friendly of the summer at centre-back despite being a right-back by trade.
But he had a fine game in the 2-0 win at the New Manor Ground.
Graham's arrival makes him Notts' sixth summer signing after the club completed deals for midfielders Jake Reeves, Casper Sloth, goalkeeper Luke Pilling, and attackers Ruben Rodrigues and Elisha Sam.
Notts are also hoping to do a deal with former Bolton defender Adam Chicksen to help add competition at left-back.
