Notts County complete loan transfer after injury blow

Notts County head coach Ian Burchnall has called the signing of winger Connor Parsons on loan from Wycombe Wanderers "massive" ahead of a busy schedule of fixtures.

The Magpies have moved to bolster their ranks after Aaron Nemane suffered a hand injury, which will require an X-ray to find out if he has fractured it.

And Ian Burchnall has acted quickly in securing the services of Connor Parsons until January 28 - something the 38-year-old believes to be key ahead of December.

Speaking of the signing, he said: "With Aaron Nemane being out for a little while, we've moved quickly to try and replace that attacking threat in the wide area.

"We've been unfortunate with illness and injury in recent weeks so to get an extra body is massive."

Burchnall also revealed himself to be a long-time fan of the 21-year-old, who had been part of Norwich City's academy before playing for Norwich United, Lowestoft Town and Icelandic side Dalvik, saying the versatile youngster "fits the mould" at Notts County.

"I've known Wycombe's B team coach, Sam Grace, for a long while and we've always spoken about players, so Connor has been on our radar. He fits the mould of what we're looking for right now," he added.

"He's played a lot of minutes at wingback for Wycombe, mostly down the left, but as he's right-footed, he can go either side.

"Wycombe have got a really good system with their B team and they're bringing through some talented youngsters. The fact they took Connor on shows there's a lot of potential there, so we're really happy to get him on board."
