Notts County boss Neal Ardley sends well wishes to Nathan Tyson after striker's son is taken ill

Neal Ardley sent his well wishes to Notts County striker Nathan Tyson after his son was taken to hospital.

The striker was not part of the Magpies' squad which was held at home by Sutton United as the two sides fought out a 1-1 draw.

Ardley  explained that Tyson's absence was not through a result of injury, but revealed he had been given time off to be with his son who was taken to hospital on Friday.

The Magpies boss is now hopeful the former Nottingham Forest striker will be able to rejoin with the squad next week.

"Tyse's little boy was taken  ill and he had to rush off from training on Friday," he said.

"We hope everything is good there. Family comes first, but hopefully his little boy is recovering well and getting better.

"His little boy was taken to hospital and the right thing to do was to let him be with his son and his wife.

"We hope that's all good and he is back in next week hopefully."
