Notts County boss Neal Ardley has Wembley in his sights as he dreams of home quarter final in the FA Trophy

Neal Ardley is dreaming of a home tie in the quarter final of the FA Trophy as Notts County inched closer to Wembley with a win at Yeovil.

In a remarkable game, which saw the Magpies finish the third round tie with nine men, they showed tremendous character to grind out a 2-1 victory,

Connell Rawlinson put them ahead before Wes Thomas was sent off for an altercation with Luke Wilkinson just before half-time.

But Kyle Wootton came off the bench to make it 2-0 but after Courtney Duffus had pulled a goal back for the Glovers,  Damian McCrory picked up an injury.

Notts County's Wes Thomas (7) is given a straight red card (Dan Westwell)

That left Notts with nine men having made all three subs, but they held on to claim a fantastic victory,

The draw for the quarter final is now on Monday and Ardley says the club will do everything they can to reach the famous arch.

“A home tie would be nice,” he said.

“We will wait and see. Now we are at this stage it’s just one of them where you are not far away now.

“Whatever happens, we will embrace whoever we play and we will give them respect.

“We are only a few steps away from Wembley and we are going to try to get there.”
