Notts County boss Neal Ardley gives update on transfer plans

Notts County boss Neal Ardley is still trying to improve the balance of his squad and says his focus is on improving the club’s attacking options.

The Magpies chief has made 11 signings in the last fortnight after the new owners Alexander and Christoffer Reedtz ended a transfer embargo in the wake of their takeover at the end of July.

Ardley says a target man and a wide player are still very much on the agenda, but given the amount of incomings, it may have to be a case of one in and one out at Meadow Lane.

“We are at the point where the budget is more or less cost neutral,” he said.

“If we went with what we have now, then that would be our budget.

“But obviously we still feel we haven’t got the balance.

“We need another wide player and another creative spark and a different centre forward if we could.

“Whether we can get one in then hope to get one out is one of those games.

“We had meetings with the owners on Wednesday again and we are very driven to try and put together a good squad.

“We are trying to evolve this club for the greater good.”
