Notts County boss Neal Ardley gives update on player departures

Neal Ardley is still working on finding loan moves for some of his Notts County squad and says there are some who really want to “get out and play”.

Players such as Tom Crawford and Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain have not been involved in Ardley’s squads in recent weeks which suggests the club would be happy for them to find football elsewhere.

One player has already turned down a loan move in recent weeks as Notts continue to find options to help them find regular football.

To keep them fit, Notts had arranged a game with Nottingham University for the club’s under-23s earlier this week, although Ardley said that while some players flourished, other did not.

Asked whether there were any departures on the horizon  Notts boss Ardley said: “We are working on it.

“Some of them had a run out the other day after arranged a game with Nottingham University for the under-23s.

“One or two did well, one or two didn’t.

“But they got some miles into their legs.

“Some players really want to get out and play, others we are having to work harder to try to get them  out there.”
