Notts care home resident, 94, 'isolating in her room after testing positive for coronavirus'

A man claims his 94-year-old grandmother is isolating in her room at a Nottinghamshire care home after testing positive for coronavirus.

Greg Dove, 42, who lives in the city centre, says his family are understandably worried about his grandmother.

Mary Cunnington currently resides in Ashton Court Care Home in Eastwood.

Mr Dove said: "At the minute, all we are being told is that she is in isolation within her room. At the moment, she isn't seriously ill which is good - and she is eating and drinking as normal.

"Obviously we are all worried about her and none of us can see her either.

"Our family are just hoping she's okay."

Mary's family say she went into the home in May this year, when she wasn't very well and needed some extra full-time care.

She has been in Ashton Court ever since, spending both the first and second wave in the residential home.

Greg said she is ready to fight coronavirus after her positive test result.

He added: "She’s made of strong stuff.

"They certainly don’t make them like her anymore!"

Mr Dove claims she is one of a number of residents at the home who have tested positive for Covid-19.

Ashton Court Care Home declined to comment on the matter.
