Nottinghamshire steel fabrication firm looks to expand and create new jobs

Jobs could be created at a steel fabrication firm in Nottinghamshire as it begins exploring new markets.

Rollin Fabrications, based in New Ollerton, has operated for almost 50 years and had developed expertise in steel staircases and frames for shop signage on retail parks.

But it recently developed a partnership with businesswoman TJ Duncan-Moir, named a leading figure in the manufacturing industry, and has now put growth plans in place to secure the firm's future.

This has involved looking at new areas which includes manufacturing for sectors such as cycling.

Mrs Duncan-Moir said: "Rollin Fabrications has been a very successful business that has been trading since 1971, working for construction companies by making bespoke steel structures to order.

"Working with Rollin Fabrications is an exciting opportunity for me."

The company currently employs 16 people and operates from a factory on the Boughton Industrial Estate. It anticipates it could employ an additional eight workers, which would include welders.

In previous years the company has built the starting grid gantry at the Silverstone motor racing circuit.

But bosses are now excited about the future of the business and the new ideas and plans that have been put in the pipeline after working with Mrs Duncan-Moir.

Company owner said: “Bringing someone of TJ’s caliber in has been a big step for this business, but it’s already paying dividends because I can see the way forward”
