A Sainsbury's worker has been fined after he told police he had cannabis on him and handed over deal bags containing the drug.
Police were in Nottingham looking for a blue Vauxhall car on October 7, 2019, when they found it.
When the driver pulled over, he ran from the car in Stapleford.
Inside the vehicle, on the back seat, was Callum Gunn with another passenger.
Gunn, 24, of Ashford Road, Stapleford, told officers he had cannabis on him and handed over the deal bags.
He pleaded guilty to possessing cannabis - a matter which could have been dealt with at the magistrates' court.
But it put him in breach of a suspended sentence, so the matter was sent to Nottingham Crown Court to be sentenced.
The suspended sentence has now expired but it was set at 13 months, suspended for two years, for handling stolen goods, dangerous driving and driving with no insurance.
His lawyer said Gunn had not been in any further trouble and he recently got a new job at Sainsbury's.
She handed character references to the judge and she said: "It is clear he is a hard-working and kind-hearted individual".
She described the latest offence as "little more than a hiccup" in this defendant's life.
The judge fined him £250 for the breach of the suspended sentence and £100 for possessing the cannabis.
