Nottinghamshire's first permanent dog cafe is set to open next month

A 'pawsome' new cafe is set to open in Nottinghamshire with treats and drinks for dogs - and their owners.

Frenchie Frenchie will be the county's first permanent dog cafe - open to French Bulldogs and other small breeds.

While humans are tucking into cakes, biscuits and coffee, their four-legged friends will be able to devour special dog-friendly bakes and have a tipple from the PAWsecco bar.

To keep them amused - the dogs, not their owners - there will be a ball pool, toys and a playhouse.

Customers will also be able to take photos of their pets at the selfie station.

Founders Arran Hoblin, 29, and his partner Liam Giles, 28, are behind the venture, which they said had had a "phenomenal response" so far.

Arran said: "We have a French Bulldog ourselves as a pet, Penny when she is good, and Penelope when she's not. She's the most gorgeous little creature - she's like a co-founder.

"We wanted somewhere to go and sit and buy treats over the counter and rather than the pop-ups we decided to do a permanent one and see how it goes."

The two, who run an online electronics company, will be basing themselves at the cafe with two-year-old Penny, who has her own little outfits.

"It's going to be a fun, chilled atmosphere where people can relax and play with their dogs and meet other dogs and their owners," added Arran.

Work is currently under way to transform a former florists in Toothill Lane, Mansfield, ready for a grand opening on Saturday November 2. Tickets for an hour-long slot on opening day are £6. To book go to frenchiefrenchie.co.uk

The rest of the time walk-ins are welcome although tables can be reserved and customers don't have to have a dog to use the cafe.
