The family of a 19-year-old man who died in a crash in Nottinghamshire say his death will leave a "huge hole in so many people's lives".

Nottinghamshire Police said the incident happened at around 1.25am.

Mr Huscroft's family said in a statement: "Jamie will always be a great son and brother but more so a friend to all.’

"He will leave such a huge hole in so many people’s lives. Full of fun, laughter and such a character.”

A 22-year-old passenger, who was also in the vehicle at the time, was taken to hospital in a serious condition but is now stable.

An investigation is underway, but no other vehicles were involved.

Collision Investigator Sarah Butler, of Nottinghamshire Police, added: "This is a devastating incident and the family are still coming to terms with the shock and grief of losing their beloved Jamie.

"Our thoughts are also with the injured passenger and his family as we support them during this difficult time.

"We continue to investigate the full circumstances around what happened and our appeal for information remains - if anyone saw a silver Vauxhall Corsa being driven in the Keyworth and Plumtree areas around the time of the collision, please get in touch.

"In particular, if anyone has dashcam footage that could be useful to us, please give us a call.

"People with information are asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101. Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
