Nottinghamshire Police issue description after masked man stabs and chases victim in St Ann's

Police are hunting for a masked offender who stabbed a man and chased the victim back to his home.

It was reported that the victim was approached by a man as he spoke to the occupants of a vehicle in a car park area of Duncombe Close, St Ann's.

The victim was stabbed in the arm in the incident on Monday evening (January 25) and chased back to his house.

Emergency services were called out at around 6.35pm.

Police have launched a witness appeal and said the masked man was last seen in the nearby Beverley Square.

Detective Sergeant Nigel Malik is leading the investigation. He said: "We are keen to speak to these people who we believe were in the area around the time the incident took place.

"Luckily the victim's injuries are not life-threatening, but it is clearly distressing for his family and friends and for people who live in this area.

"My team have been working to establish who was behind the attack and we are determined to bring them to justice.

"The ambulance service reported that a man had been injured in Duncombe Close in St Ann's.

"Officers were quickly on the scene to begin their investigation.

"It was reported the victim was approached by a man as he spoke to the occupants of a vehicle in a car park area on Duncombe Close.

"The man then attacked the victim before chasing him to his home address.

"The masked man was last sighted on Beverley Square.

"He has been described as a white male, in his early 20s, slim build and wearing all black with his face covered.

"Detectives continue to investigate local CCTV footage and are asking for anyone who saw anyone suspicious in the area to come forward to help with our enquiries."
