Nottinghamshire Police discover £80k of cannabis in Radford after report of 'suspicious activity'

More than £80,000 worth of cannabis has been found inside a house in Radford.

Officers made the discovery at the property in Alfreton Road on Thursday morning, (January 30).

87 plants are due to be destroyed after a report of suspicious activity was made to Nottinghamshire Police last night (Wednesday, January 29).

Officers attended the scene and found the property had been converted into a cannabis farm.

Electricity had been bypassed in order to power growing equipment and a police have secured the scene while officers ensure the safety of the property.

Inspector Riz Khan, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Drug crime will not be tolerated in our city and county. We are committed to tackling those who commit drug crime with the full force of the law.

“It is early days in our investigation and we are yet to make an arrest in connection with the cannabis but we will be exploring several lines of inquiry to find who is responsible for the grow.

“If you have any information that could aid us in our investigation, please do not hesitate to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 891 of 29 January 2020.”
