A man who illegally sold prescribed medicines online via social media has been handed a suspended prison sentence.
Police received intelligence that Jacob Brooks, 25, of Percival Gardens, Sutton-in-Ashfield, had been advertising and supplying steroids, Diazepam and various prescription and non-prescription medicines between September and November 2018.
When officers searched his home they found and seized a significant number of medicines along with Class C drugs and steroids and arrested Brooks.
He went on to plead guilty to a charge of selling a medicine/product not subject to general sale, three charges of offering to supply a Class C drug, one count of possession with intent to supply a Class C drug and a further charge of possessing a medical product with intent to supply.
Brooks appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on Tuesday, March 30 where he was given a 13-month prison sentence, suspended for 18 months.
Detective Constable Akil Kapasi, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: "Brooks was advertising and selling medical products illegally to make money.
"I hope the outcome of this case serves as a warning that offences of this nature that pose a risk to others will be dealt with to the full extent of the law."
