Nottinghamshire man dies after incident at Lincoln building site

Police have confirmed a construction worker from Nottinghamshire has died after an incident at a building site in Lincoln.

The 23-year-old man's family have been confirmed, according to Lincolnshire Live.

Police were called to the site on Rudgard Lane, off West Parade, at 10.48am today, Thursday, January 9.

Lindum Construction, who operate the building site, said it involved a groundwork subcontractor - Chesterfield-based Melfort Construction Services.

Fire crews were spotted at the scene but have since left. A police cordon remains in place.

Lincolnshire Police confirmed a man from Nottinghamshire died at the scene.

A spokesperson for said: "We can confirm that a 23-year-old man died at the scene.

"His family have been informed. We are now working with the Health and Safety Executive to establish the circumstances of this tragic incident."
