Nottinghamshire care home closes due to 'quality' and 'commercial' issues as residents moved

Residents at a Nottinghamshire care home have been moved after it closed due to "quality" and "commercial" issues.

Owners of The Grange Nursing Home in Elm Avenue, Attenborough, informed the authorities of their intention to close the site and residents were moved to alternative accommodation in February.

The Care Quality Commission's last public report on the home, published in August 2018, rated the home as 'good'.

At the time, the service was registered to accommodate up to 29 older people, with age related conditions, including frailty, mobility issues and dementia.

But the CQC said a new report on the home was due out soon and could not comment further until then.

Melanie Brooks, corporate director for adult social care and health at Nottinghamshire County Council, told Nottinghamshire Live: “The owners of The Grange Nursing Home informed the council, the CCG and the CQC of its plans to close due to commercial and quality issues.

"All partners worked closely with the owners to support residents to move to alternative accommodation during February.”

Nottinghamshire Live has attempted to contact the home for comment.
