Woman takes 'huge risk' in opening new wellbeing studio in Arnold

A woman who took a 'huge risk' to leave her job and set up a wellbeing studio has explained she just wants to make others feel good. The aim of the new studio, in Arnold, is to ‘make a difference to people’s lives.’

Charlotte Hashim is due to open Pure Wellbeing on Calverton Road on June 25. She has 16 years' experience in the industry, having worked as an employee wellbeing consultant, a fitness advisor and in Occupational Health for Nottinghamshire’s Fire Service.

The mum of two is also a personal trainer and has a degree in Sports, Fitness and Coaching from the Open University. Now, Charlotte has said it’s a ‘dream come true’ having her own studio.

She said: “I’ve always had a clear vision of what I’ve wanted my studio to look like.

“I spent just 10 days sorting out the website, ordering the kit - I knew what I needed to do. I have PT clients from years ago who have come back to me and I can’t wait to just crack on.”

In a ‘chilled’ environment, there will be pilates classes for £8 a session where you don’t have to book in block, chair-based activities, personal training sessions for £30 and a 12 week fitness course for £120. Charlotte continued: “I’m providing exclusive services for everyone, I don’t want people not able to afford to look after themselves.”

Charlotte continued: “I was 26 when I had my daughter and I wanted to get back into shape. “I had put quite a lot of weight on and for me, I had left like I had lost my identity a bit - exercise helped me get it back.

“I wanted to help other women too so I trained as PT.”

Charlotte is looking forward to welcoming people on June 25 between 11am and 3pm. She added: “I graft really hard and now I have this studio, I feel like I’m finally in my happy place. I have a supportive family too and so many ideas.

“Yes, I have bills but this isn’t just about making money it’s about being happy and making others happy. I love it here, I have nice neighbours, it’s what I’ve always dreamed of.”

There is a corporate side to the business to come too which will offer accredited mental health first aid training, back care in the workplace training, menopause support sessions and more.

Charlotte continued: “I’m passionate about making a difference to people’s lives, with my personal training, I always stay true to the science and don’t get swept away with fads.”

In Arnold, people are excited to hear of a new wellbeing studio. Carly Leanne Hawkins, 33 said: “You don’t really hear of things like this in Arnold so I’ll definitely be taking a look.

“I think usually with things like this you have to travel into town so I’m glad there’s something on my doorstep. I’ve never done pilates before but I do go to the gym so this could be somewhere else I can go too.”

Hamish Lee, 31 said: “I’ve always gone to the gym but there’s so many people who have maintained a strict exercise routine after piling on the weight in lockdown. I think this a good thing for Arnold, it’s nice to hear of something opening that isn’t a cafe or a fast-food place.”

Hamish from Sherwood works as a project manager. He added: “I hope people get behind it and support it.”
