Wetherspoon pubs are launching their own version of Eat Out to Help Out with some mega deals for customers starting today (Tuesday, September 1).
The chain says prices on some of its meals and drinks will be cheaper than those available in McDonald’s or Domino’s Pizza.
The scheme, Stay Out to Help Out, will run at all the Nottinghamshire pubs, including the Roebuck in the city centre and Trent Bridge Inn at West Bridgford.
Certain meals will be served at reduced prices, Monday to Wednesday, until November 11.
Offers include an 11-inch margherita pizza or 6oz burger and chips, both with a soft drink, for £3.99. A traditional breakfast is £2.99 and a small version just £2.49.
A trio of small plates, such as nachos, chicken wings, spicy king prawns and halloumi fries, will set you back £7.50 instead of the usual £10.75.
Prices on tea and coffee with free refills and a range of soft drinks have been cut to 99p.
Wetherspoon founder and chairman Tim Martin said: "The government’s Eat Out to Help Out scheme was extremely popular with our customers and a great boost to the hospitality industry.
"We are keen to offer our customers a superb choice of food and drink at great value for money prices.
"Our offer means that a classic beef burger in our pubs will be even better value than McDonald’s.
"The classic burger in Wetherspoon is £3.99 versus McDonald’s Big Mac medium meal (comprising Big Mac two 1.6 ounce beef patties, medium fries, medium Coca-Cola Zero Sugar) which costs £4.59.
"In addition cappuccino in our pubs will be 50p cheaper than McDonald’s and our customers can have free refills too."
He added the pizza deals are cheaper than Domino's where a two topping 11.5 inch pizza deal without a drink is £5.99.
