Nottingham weather forecast: Temperatures to stay warm with 22C predicted

The autumnal cold weather is not upon us just yet as temperatures look set to exceed 20C heading into next week.

The Met Office forecasts temperatures peaking in the low-20s next week thanks to Tropical Maritime air being drawn across the UK - though wind and rain will continue.

It added: "It is likely to turn warm in the south-east of England where temperatures will rise into the low 20Cs, perhaps mid-20Cs in one or two spots," a spokesperson continued.

"At present, this is not expected to fit the criteria for a heatwave, however, as this requires temperatures of 27C or higher in the south-east for at least three consecutive days."

Nottingham looks set to reach 18C on Monday (September 7), although it will be cloudy.

And the mercury is predicted to rise to 22C on Tuesday, but again remaining overcast and cloudy.

Spells of sunshine will warm us in the city on Wednesday and temperatures are expected to hit 19C in the afternoon.

It will then drop cooler and cloudier again on Thursday, reaching around 17C after a sunny morning.

Temperatures will remain steady on Friday at around 18C, so it's not time for that big coat just yet during the day.

A big plus is the chances of rain low minimal throughout the week.

Wind speeds look to be in the mid 20s (mph) for most of the week.

Met Office Outlook

Sunday:

A dull but mostly dry start, with any overnight rain soon easing. Some sunny spells then developing, but also a few afternoon showers. Many parts staying dry throughout, however. Maximum temperature 19 °C.

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:

Cloudy and breezy Monday and Tuesday. but mostly dry. Likely brighter in the east. Rain or drizzle possible, mainly western hills. Dry, but cloudy start Wednesday, before turning brighter later.
